Mario Salvadori Obituary

Salvadori, Mario Folco Was born on March 29, 1931 in Castiglioncello, Italy to Folco Salvadori and Carlotta (née Corvaja Parducci) Salvadori. He died on April 27, 2018 in Chicago. Mario lived a full and cosmopolitan life. He grew up, studied, worked, and raised a family with his wife Patricia (nee Halloran) around the world. He began his professional career as a journalist, investigating among other things the institutions for the mentally ill (in Rome) and Vatican finances (in New York). He co-founded an advertising agency in Milan. He was a public relations executive for E.N.I. (Milan), Texas Instruments (Rome) and Motorola (Geneva and Chicago). He was a gentleman, a polyglot, elegant, charming, philosophical, funny, generous, decidedly no fan of satraps, and deeply loved. His ashes will be placed in the family tomb in Tuscany. Mario is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Patricia who he adored and admired; his daughters, Margaret (Jeffrey Black) Salvadori and Sharon (Francesco De Marinis) Salvadori; his grandchildren, Isaac Salvadori-Black and Carla Salvadori-Black. He was preceded in death by his son Robert, his parents and brothers. A private memorial service will be held at St. Ignatius Church in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders.
