Gibbons, Marilyn (nee Flanagan), 82 passed away peacefully at her Chicago northwest side home; beloved wife of the late Hubert, US Railroad Retirement Board; devoted mother of Michael, DDS (Jeanine), Gerald (Lynn), Eileen (Richard) Reedy, Raymond (Patricia) and Marjorie (Daniel) Pisani; cherished grandmother of Patrick, Bridget and Jacquelyn Reedy, Regina and Caroline, Michael and Kathryn, Shane, Matthew and Daniel Gibbons; loving daughter of the late Lucile nee McManis and John Flanagan; dear sister of the late Elizabeth, Marjorie, Raymond, John, Arthur and Harold; fond sister-in-law of the late Evelyn Gibbons and Catherine "Cay" (John) McCann; loving aunt of Kevin (Carol) and John (Gretchen) McCann and Mary Erin ( Terrence) Stassen; she will be greatly missed by her companion and longtime caretaker Jean Sambur; Marilyn fought a long, courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for over 40 years. She was a true friend to many, was well known for her unbreakable spirit, great sense of humor, love of Chicago sports and card playing expertise. Funeral Wednesday 10 a.m. from Gibbons Funeral Home 5917 W. Irving Park Rd., to St. Ferdinand Church. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
