Marilyn Garrity Obituary

I met Marilyn for the first and only time in April of '05 at Kathy Kane Weber-Gaddi's wedding reception in San Diego. She was everything I had heard of her. Quick, funny, fun,generous. I feel fortunate to have met her. My sympathy for your loss. Mary Sue Leslie

To my old friends, the Kanes and my new friends, Tom Garrity and Marilyn's children, please accept my sincere condolences. Yesterday, I learned that Marilyn had moved on.

Marilyn was a wonderful person who accepted with courage and grace, all that life dealt her.

Growing up, I had the privilege of having her for my best friend. I am so glad that I was able to reconnect with her a few years ago.

We didn't do enough.

I hope all of the family will find comfort in one another and in memories of the delightful woman that she was. We'll see her in the next place.

As a childhood friend of Marilyn (she was a loyal patriot of the esteemed "Alley Gang" of Rosemont & Western Avenues) I can attest that above all others she was the one that everyone wanted to be with, always empathetic, always everyone's confidant. I truly enjoyed reconnecting with Marilyn at our St. Tim's reunion and finding that she had maintained her comaraderie and character throughout the years. My sympathy to all her family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Marilyn through Dr. Tenta's office, and had the pleasure of working with her for a short time. She was truly a special lady.

First of all I would like to thank Marilyn for having my bestest friend. Your strength through all of this has been amazing. Kip and the kids are so precious and it is all attributed to you and your mom. Your mom always made me feel welcome in your family and always made me laugh. Your whole family means the world to me and I know that she's in good company. I, as well as countless others will miss her dearly.

I was so sorry to read of Marilyn's passing. I worked with her many years ago at Ravenswood Hospital. She was a delightful individual, always joking and smiling. My deepest sympathy to her husband and family.

My sister Kathleen and I are truly sorry to learn of Marilyn's death. She was a good friend to both of us and will be deeply missed. May her family take comfort that Marilyn is at peace.

She hade that mischievious twinkle in her eyes, made you laugh, made life fun. It has been so many years since I've seen Marilyn, but I loved her and feel privaledged to have known her.

I was so sorry to hear about Marilyn's passing. I will always remember her with love. It was great to be able to see and chat with her when she was here for her sister's wedding. I will never forget my cousin and the times we spent together in our youth. My prayers are with all of the Garrity's and the Kane's.

I remember Marilyn as a kind and caring friend, when we were classmate's at St. Timothy Grammer School. I am sorry for the loss and pain for Marilyn's loved ones, but TRUST that nature will do the healing, and KNOW that the pain will pass - eventually...
