Hornacek, Marie (nee Mrkva), age 95, of Countryside, formerly of Chicago and Berwyn. Marie was a dedicated cook, homemaker and possibly the best cookie and Pastry baker in the state of Illinois. Known as the "Cookie Lady". Beloved wife of the late John A. Hornacek, fond mother of John (Sue) Hornacek, dear grandmother of Jeff (Stacy) Hornacek, Jay (Jennifer) Hornacek, Jim (Ruth) Hornacek and John (Ellen) Hornacek, great-grandmother of Ryan, Tyler, Abby, Alex, Hannah, Kyle, Sarah, Andrew, Carson and Ethan, sister of Lena Brustik, Anna Sovis, the late Joe Mrkva and Frank Mrkva. Visitation Saturday, January 24, 2009, 10:30 a.m. to time of service 11:30 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
