I appreciated Marie Hahn. I was a student at Dawes until 1980.
Dawes was an excellent school, extremely well-run. Despite our best efforts to buck the system, discipline was quite high. I believe Ms. Hahn's quiet and focused demeanor contributed to the high standards set at Dawes. It ranked as one of the best schools in CPS under her leadership.

My two brothers and I will never forget her as the principal and friend at Dawes School. She was a great woman.
I remember washing her car when I was in 8th grade and we were trying to raise money with a car wash.
We all will miss her.

My condolences to Mrs. Hahn's family. I was a student at Dawes from 1973 to 1982. Mrs. Hahn was such a good principal. I remember her as a very nice and gracious person. I never heard her raise her voice. She would often visit classrooms throughout the day, especially when we were singing songs. May her memory be eternal.
