Marie Comiskey Obituary

Dover – Marie F. Comiskey, 79 of 72 Dover Point Road died Saturday June 19 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

She was born in Dover on November 16, 1924 the daughter of Thomas A. and Rhoda (Gaskill) Comiskey. Marie is a graduate of Dover High School Class of 1942 and has lived here her entire life. She was also a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Marie owned and operated the Rochester Convalescence Home for many years then went to work for Dr. Smith as an office nurse. She worked at the doctor’s office until her retirement.

She loved the game of golf, bird watching, gardening and painting. She was like a second mother to all her nieces and nephews. Marie will always be remembered for her compassion towards others and her willingness to listen with an open ear. Her passing leaves a void in so many whose lives she touched.

Family members include her 2 nieces Gail Comisky Byron of Madbury and Beth Sandock of Dover, three nephews; Peter Sandock of Dover, Dean Comisky of Dover and Gary Comisky of Greenish, Me., a sister-in-law; Marjorie Comisky of Dover, great-nieces and great-nephews and her dear friends, Effie Pappas and Helen Kincaid.

She was predeceased by her sister Beverly Sandock, two brothers; Robert and Thomas Comiskey and a niece, Jaye Sandock Mercer.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday June 23rd from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. in Dover.

A funeral service will be held Thursday June 24th at 10:00am at the funeral home.
