To the family of Dr. Perez-Pelaez, I am so sorry for your loss. I just realized his passing was over 25 years now but having lost my dad as well, I know the heartbreak is forever there. Dr. Mariano Perez-Pelaez was my mom’s ob-gyn and brought ME into the world in 1969! Then, 20 years later, diagnosed me with PCOS, operated both my ovaries, then a few months after that, helped save my baby who I almost miscarried in month 3. If it wasn’t for this great man’s mind and skill , I would have certainly lost my child. My child (now 34) will forever be my miracle baby. Thank you Dr. Perez-Pelaez! You touched 3 generations in our family. May god bless you and your family forever!

Dr. Perez-Pelaez was my doctor in 1968! Long ago, but I shall never forget him. He had such skill and used new methods to help me conceive. AND he succeeded. The result is my now 53 year old son and my 52 year old daughter. This was a time when fertility treatments were in their infancy. I knew Dr. Perez had died--was certainly sorry to hear this. It is now 20+ years later, but perhaps someone in the family will read this and understand what an impact he made on my life and the lives of so many. He was an amazing man--a combination of medical skill and compassion and humor. He'll never be forgotten. Thank you.

I just found this and needed to send my condolences and my story. I worked at St Joe's and all the nurses told me about Dr Perez-Pelaez. I had already lost 5 babies during my first trimester. When I went to see him I was already pregnant and he helped me get thru my 2nd trimester, but lost her when i was at 6-1/2 months, then since I was a patient, with the care of hormone shots, I finally had my first baby at full term. He was a miracle from God thanks to my wonderful doctor. I will never forget him.

To the family of Dr. Perez,

Dr. Perez was a wonderful, compassionate doctor and human being. After seeing Dr. Perez for six years and being called "pessimistic Pat" by him, I was able to conceive a little girl who is now 29 year old. My husband and I will always be grateful to this wonderful man who was a scientist as well as a physician and a very kind person. May his memory be eternal.

To the family of Dr. Perez-Pelaez:

Dr. Perez was a gift from God. We will forever remeber him as a compassionate man who was wise and gifted physician. After many starts and stops, tears of joy and sadness, our miracle (a daughter) was born in 1993. We will never forget Dr. Perez. We love him and miss him. We thank God for sending Dr. Perez to bless our lives. Remember that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

My deepest sympathies to the Perez-Pelaez family. I trained under Dr. Perez-Pelaez during my Ob/Gyn residency at St. Joseph Hospital. We all truly benefitted from his laparoscopic techniques, but most importantly, from his compassion and respect for his many patients. He was a wonderful man, physician and miracle worker to many. May you find peace in knowing that he touched so many of our lives.

Dear Perez-Pelaez Family,

Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. Dr. Perez-Pelaez was a talented doctor who diagnosed my problem when all others had failed. His passion for his work was unparalleled and he conducted his practice with both compassion and integrity. He influenced the entire study and treatment of certain forms of infertility and his legacy is not only the many patients fortunate enough to have been in his care but also the countless others that benefited from his research. His skill and expertise truly made a difference in so many lives.

Dr. Perez-Pelaez was so much more than a M.D. He was a miracle worker. Dr. Perez-Pelaez turned our despair and disappointment into a healthy, beautiful baby boy. Our 16 year old son is a living tribute to the work of Dr. Perez-Pelaez. He was genuine and compassionate with all of his patients. Dr. Perez-Pelaez was a man ahead of his time. But he was right on time in my life, and he will never be forgotten. My family will be eternally grateful to Dr. Perez-Pelaez. He changed our lives, and he leaves the world a better place. We will miss him. Our prayers are with his family. Know that he was a gift from God.

I was a patient of Dr. Perez-Pelaez from 1978 to 1984 (Patient #4662). Through his medical expertise I will forever be grateful for the "gift of life"...my daughter, Melaura who was born in 1984. His knowledge of infertility treatments(during an era when so few doctors familiar with this subject were available) will forever be remembered.
