Margaret Maier Obituary
Margaret Mary Maier née Conway, age 94, died peacefully at her home in Lincolnwood, Illinois on January 5, 2022. She was the wife of Charles W. Maier Jr. (Charlie). They shared 69 wonderful years of marriage together. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Philip and Charlotte Conway. She was a graduate of University of Illinois Circle Campus and after graduation, worked for the CTA designing maps for the elevated system in Chicago. She was an accomplished Fine Artist who exhibited her work over the years at numerous art fairs in the Chicago area and Sonoma County, California.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie, and their 7 children Anthony (Edita), Nicholas (Heather), Charlotte (Louis Rosen), Patrick (Tina), Michael (Kimberly), Charles III (Mary) and Mary (Jesse Wilde); 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Margaret was kind and loving to all she met, and she will be dearly missed. Catholic services will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022 at St. Joseph Church, 1747 W. Lake St, Wilmette IL 60091 with in-church Visitation at 10:30 AM and Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. We are planning a larger Memorial Service and Celebration of Margaret's Life, to be held in May 2022. Margaret was a good friend of my parents for many years. She was kind, funny and such a good person. My dad called her "Sophia" sometimes for reasons I cannot remember. My mom drank a lot of tea with her at the Claremont house. I have so many good memories of time spent with Margaret...and Charlie...and I am so sorry that I didn't get to visit when they moved back to the Chicago area from California. To all the Maier "kids".....your mom was one of my favorites and I know she will be missed by so many. Dave and I send our sympathy to you all.

Margaret was the embodiment of true grace. She showed the world what it meant to be a great woman, an extraordinary mother and the neighbor every person hopes for. Sincere condolences to all the Maier family.
