Margaret (Peggy) Therese Barrett (nee Liston). Age 70. Beloved wife of John for over 49 years. Loving mother of Irene (Tom) Costello, Julie (Brian) O'Kane, John (Jenna) Barrett, Michael (Elisabeth) Barrett & Peggy (John) Kerrigan. Dedicated grandmother of Mikey & Johnny Costello; Billy, Grace & Brian O'Kane; Jack, James & Kate Barrett; Anderson, Benji, Clara & Elsie Barrett & Rose and Emily Kerrigan. Devoted daughter of the late Mike and the late Rosemary Liston. Cherished sister of the late Mick (Sue) Liston, John (Nancy) Liston, late David (Mary Jane) Liston, Jim (Peggy) Liston, Rose (John) Sullivan, Pat (Mary) Liston & Sally (Marty) Durkin. Adored Godmother of Susan DiLeo. Much loved aunt and cousin to many. Peggy will also be missed by her wonderful friends, especially Marilyn Joyce, Mary McNally and Ann Bepis. Peggy was a steadfast partner to John in building their company for over 40 years and as a supportive and graceful wife of 49 years. She raised her children well, to be independent, honest and hard-working. She was delighted when they found happiness with their spouses. Her greatest joy came from spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. Peggy will be remembered for her strong faith, devotion to family, warm smile and her kindness to all. Peggy was an inspiration during her journey with leukemia and immune deficiency, facing the challenges with strength and grace. The Barrett family thanks Dr. Rick Singh, Dr. Murtuza Rampurwala, Dr. Francisco Yun and Eliva Ortiz, MSN. Visitation Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 3-9 pm. Funeral Thursday October 3, 2024 10 am from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 151st Street Orland Park, IL to St. Michael Church, 14327 Highland Avenue, Orland Park, IL. Mass at 11am. Please accept my condolences. I reflect on all the fun and good times we all had back in the day. The dances the bars all the weddings we were always going out somewhere. Calling back and forth trying to find the best place. At one of these times Peggy met John and the rest is history. It's good memories I have of Peggy. I was so sorry to hear of her passing I will keep the family in my prayers.
