Marcia McCormick Obituary

McCormick, Marcia Marcia Alexander McCormick, of Burr Ridge IL, born on January 29, 1932, departed on March 4, 2009 after a long struggle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She leaves her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas, as well as five devoted children Tracy, Michael (Karen), Brian (Zurich Esposito) Joseph (Marsha) and Padraic (Eve). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Sean, Caitlin, Kelly, Kristine, Kevin, Murphy, Ashlyn, and Teague McCormick and Kyle Parris, as well as three sisters, Ardean Casey, Joanne Lester (Charles) and Paula Keller (Robert). She is also mourned by two brothers-in-law, Joseph (Margaret) and James (Jane), and a sister-in-law, Aurelia Zimmerman (John). She is preceded in death by her son Thomas, her loving granddaughter Ari Chester, her sister Doris Veneman and her brothers-in-law Samuel Casey and Gerard Veneman. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Gibbons Elliston Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant Street, Hinsdale, IL. A funeral mass celebrating Marcia's life will be held on Monday, March 9 at 9:45 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 5005 Wolf Road, Western Springs. Family and friends will meet at St. John of the Cross. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Ari Chester.
