Mamie Mangrum Obituary

Mrs. Mamie Jewell English Mangrum, 78 of Lake City died late Tuesday evening, May 10, 2005 at her home in Lake City following an extended illness. A native of Benton, Kentucky, Mrs. Mangrum was the daughter of the late Fred and Eltan Mae Dodge English. Mrs. Mangrum had lived in Jacksonville for several years before moving to Lake City in 1964. She was a member of the family at New Beginning Christian Fellowship in Lake City, had previously been in the recycling business and enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Mangrum was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Mr. Andrew Mangrum in 1996.

Mrs. Mangrum is survived by two sons, Jewell Wayne Mangrum (Nancy), Manning, SC and David E. Mangrum (Mary), Lake City, two daughters, Deborah L. Shaw, Lake City and Carolyn A. Mangrum, Central City, KY. Eight grandchildren, Andrew D. Mangrum (Donna), Ft. Jackson, SC, Christopher L. Mangrum, Lake City, Lynn Callahan, Ocala, Dorry Mangrum (Marie), Nashville, TN, Melissa Senters, Vero Beach, Roger D. Cothran (Mary), Lake City, Allison Whitehead, Avon Park and Dwayne Cothran, Avon Park and nineteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mangrum will be conducted on Friday, May 13, 2005 at Gateway~Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Forrest Combs of New Beginning Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of Suwannee Valley for the Lake City Capital Campaign at 618 SW Florida Gateway Dr, Lake City, Florida 32024.
