I was so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I worked at Y&R during the time he headed up the Chicago office. He was very gifted, very intelligent and very nice man. I am truly sorry for the family's loss.

I am truly saddened at the loss of a very special man. I am honored to have worked for you for 15 wonderful years at ABC. Your thirst for news - reading every major newspaper and industry magazines all before 10 AM set a fine example of man who leads an international association. And your personal touches (knowing each employee by face and name) was special. You will be missed. My thoughts and love to you Marilyn in the days/weeks ahead. --SueT.

Dear Marilyn: We send our prayers and sympathy to you on the loss of your dear husband, Dave. He was a good friend and mentor to me during my early days at Armour & Company (the Dial Soap unit). We shared many good times together and I will always remember his personal warmth, creative business instincts, hearty laugh and his challenging tennis adventures -- especially playing in the major Chicago Amateur Open. What great memories of a wonderful man!

We are truly saddened to lose our Michigan neighbor and friend. David was a perfect gentleman and always had a positive attitude towards life. We will miss seeing him in the summer months up north where he and Marilyn love to be.
Marilyn, we wish you the strength to carry on with all of the great memories you have had together.

One of the greatest managers ever. Within days after Dave joined ABC, he was "in charge", knowing everyone and everything we did. He motivated with a gentle hand, yet capably moved the company forward. He will be missed by many, many of his friends.
