Luther Adams Obituary

Luther Roy Adams, 69, of Glen, Mississippi, died Monday, February 9, 2004, at his residence. He was a graduate of Burnsville High School and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. He served for 4 years in the U. S. Air Force and retired from the State Health Department after 30 years, serving in both Alcorn and Tishomingo Counties. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, treasurer, Adult Sunday School teacher, and song leader for many years. He was a devoted family man. His favorite pastime was fellowshipping with his family, church family, and friends.

Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, at New Liberty Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Ed Kennedy. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Eddie Kennedy, Greg Kennedy, Jeff Kennedy, Nicky Cummings, Mike Inlow, and Todd Murphy. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Betty Hall Adams of Glen, MS; 2 sons, Greg Adams and wife, Shirley, of Glen, MS, and Steve Adams and wife, Sandy, of Decatur, AL; 1 daughter, Elizabeth Morris and husband, Eddie, of Iuka, MS; and 7 grandchildren, Seth, Chelsey, and Eli Adams, all of Glen, MS, Lauren and Natalie Adams, both of Decatur, AL, and Ethan and Avaline Morris, both of Iuka, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruby South Adams, and an infant twin brother, Riley Troy Adams.
