Lucille McGrath Obituary

McGrath, Lucille M. (nee Cabo) Age 78, of Lockport, passed away peacefully Friday, January 16, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center. Born in Chicago, living in Lockport since 1968. Lucille is a retired Dean of Students from Romeoville High School after 19 years of service and previously was Principal and Art Teacher for Valley View School District 365U for many years. She was known and loved as "Mrs. McGrath" to many administrators, teachers and students, but mostly she was a loving wife, mom and grandma and was a friend to many. Preceded in death by her husband, John J.; her parents, Paul and Josephine (Bertino) Cabo; sisters, Rose Polacek, Anna Yolich, Josephine Pelletier and Marie Diamond. Survived by her loving children, JoAnne (Geoffrey) Bernstein, Jackie (Christos) Polezogopoulos, John McGrath and Joseph (Dolores) McGrath; three grandchildren, John, Athena and Stephanie Lucille Polezogopoulos; and a sister, Genevieve (John, deceased) Botica; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Dennis Church would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2015, 9:30 a.m. from the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME, 1105 E. 9th St., (159th St.), LOCKPORT to St. Dennis Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
