Lourdes and I met in high school She was my date to the Jr. Ring dance and my Sr. Prom. In 1973, we were married. It was the beginning of what turned out to be the most wonderful years of my life. She gave birth to Valerie in 1974 and Eric in 1979. She was a great wife and an awesome Mom. She dedicated herself to teaching us how to enjoy life. Without realizing it, she slowly molded me to her ways. She taught our chlidren how to love and care for each other. Not a day went by that Valerie and Eric wouldn't kiss her goodbye or say "I love you, Mom", even if by a simple phone call. If they forgot, she would always remind them. She enjoyed planning the kids birthdays and especially had the time of her life planning Valerie's and Eric's wedding. She was a fabulous Grandmother to Nathan and Brandon-they were her pride and joy. She was always willing to give her time and love to each of them-her love was never ending. Lourdes was very proud of what she did, and the way she handled things. She was dedicated to her job, but would make it perfectly clear that her family always came first. She touched many people in her life, it was evident by the hundreds of get-well cards which she received over the last four months. While in the hospital, her room was filled with flowers from one end of the room to the other. She was diagnosed with cancer on June 14th, and today we will lay her to rest. She fought a though battle and I am very proud of her I feel that she has won the battle and finally has no more pain to endure. So today, my love, go in peace until we meet again.

I have such an empty feeling inside and a broken heart, but I could deal with this pain as long as your pain has stopped and your not suffering anymore. Mom, I miss you so much, you will always be in my heart. And I promise to love my family as much as you loved all of us.

Love you always, Mija xoxo(Valerie)
