When I read the term " book closed" or," condolences expired ", I said "never" !
I first met Lou in June 67 just after my discharge from the Army Infantry. Lou's word was his bond. No political war stories. Lou was a great teacher. Many is the time he would point out a mistake (and I made many). He helped multiple hundreds of people.

I spent many years working for Lou. No better man will you find.

With that I conclude by saying, Lou's legacy is lasting and this book will never close.

God Bless You Boss

My Deepest condolence and sympathy to the family of Louis Kasper.

Lou and I met as uniformed Patrolmen on the Cook County Sheriff's Police,1953-54, under the late Sheriff John Babb. In 1954, under Sheriff Joseph Lohman, Lou and I were promoted to Detective, serving as the first two Major Crime Investigators under then Captain Jack Johnson. Lou, a World War Two Veteran, and I were active in the Col. A.L. Brodie Post Ameerican Legion, and were dear friends.

Lou was a great public servant and patriot , always subscribing to the principles of Justice, Freedom, and Democracy. He served his community, State and Nation with great honor and dignity.

He will always be remembered and greatly missed.

Lou Kasper was "ONE OF A KIND" he was a gentleman I will never forget, from the first time I met him in late 1980's, his kindness, his sense of humor, hospitality, etc. I can go on and on about Lou, he was a "TRUE FRIEND" to many, including myself, I have learned so many things and met so many people thru this wonderful man, and I will always cherish my memories of Lou.
