Louis Cerveny Obituary
Cerveny, Louis Lifelong CFD Firefan, Louis Cerveny of Engine 38 and later Engine 72, passed away Thursday, May 12th, at the age of 79. A member of the Beer Industry Union Local 744, he worked in the beverage industry for most of his life. A Magnet for Angels, Louis had many helping hands along the way including, Anton and Margaret Cerveny, The Chicago Fire Dept. and Captain Robert Molinari CFD of Engine 72 who took care of Louis as one of his own. Louis is survived by his older brother, Anton (Margaret) Cerveny, three nephews, Dan, Tony and Ron and niece, Maria and eight great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his mother, Vera and a sister. Services held Sunday, 4 p.m., at Zarzycki Manor Chapel, 5088 S. Archer Ave. (corner of Keeler). Visitation Sunday, 3 to 9 p.m. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Phillips, WI. For info contact: 773-767-2166To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

To All the Friends of Louie who were TRUE FRIENDS: Condolences from St. Florian KC 12911. No one had as many friends as Louie. And to all the FFs/PMs that befriended this nice man our thanks for expressing what the true tradition of the Chicago Fire really is.

I MET LOUIS AT ENG 34'S HOUSE IN 1955,A FEW YEARS LATER SEEN HIM AT H&L 48.
IT WAS YEARS LATER I MEET HIM ON THE SOUTH SIDE,HE MUST HAVE BEEN AT ENG 72 AT THE TIME.HE WAS A VERY NICE GUY SORRY TO SEE HIM GO

I was so sorry to hear the news about Louie. The firehouse will not be the same without him. His spirit, however, will live at both E-38's new house, and at E-72.
