Lothar Bachem Obituary

QUEENSBURY -- Lothar Bachem, 75, of Lyon Court, Queensbury, passed away quietly on Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on July 17, 1929, in New York City, he was the son of Adolf and Freida (Beck) Bachem.

Mr. Bachem grew up in

the Bronx and moved to New Jersey where he lived for many years.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Mr. Bachem owned and operated several companies as a European food importer.

He and his wife, Helga,

moved to Queensbury in

1994, because they loved the area.

In recent years, Mr. Bachem spent his time running the Homeowner's Association at Westwood.

He was also a highly involved member and treasurer of the Lake George Rotary.

He always enjoyed the company of his friends and felt that life should be fun.

He was fortunate enough to spend many years with his family and friends in the Lake George area, which he loved very much.

Survivors include his wife, Lotte Helga

(Job) Bachem of Queensbury; two sons, Peter Bachem and his wife, Jacqueline and their two boys, Kyle and

Dylan, of Queensbury, and

Fred Bachem and his wife, Muisje, of Towanda, Pa., and their children, Jocelyn and Elliott; a granddaughter, Corey; and three great-grandchildren, Dempsey, Grady, and Evelyn.

Friends may call from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Stafford Funeral Home, Inc., 90 Montcalm St., Lake George.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
