Lorraine McCampbell Obituary

McCampbell, Lorraine E. (nee Samuel), age 86, peacefully at rest, December 31, 2009, fond daughter of the late Louis and the late Anna Samuel, beloved wife of the late John H. McCampbell, founder of the McCampbell Funeral Home, located at 6505 W. Irving Park, Chicago, IL. Mr. McCampbell was a Iicensed funeral director for over 50 years, cherished mother of Roy F. (Mary Jane Goldthwaite) McCampbell, Edesse L. (Thomas) Guimon, and the late baby Mary McCampbell, proud grandmother of Megan Eileen Guimon, Roy John and Samuel Broderick McCampbell, dear sister of the late Bernyce "Bee" Samuel. Lorraine was an alumni of Alvernia High School and The DePaul University School of Music. Lorraine was a former Schiller Park Library Board Trustee, a member of the National Library Association, and the American Guild of Organists. Lorraine will remain the matriarch and historian for the generations to come. She expressed her devotion and love through her guidance for her family. Her role is irreplaceable and she will be missed greatly. "I've learned that if your children feel safe, wanted, and loved, you are a successful parent." Lorraine is resting at The Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL 60634, on Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Chapel prayers will be said on Monday, at 9:00 a.m. prior to the Mass of Catholic Burial at St. Beatrice Church in Schiller Park, IL at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Lorraine E. McCampbell Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Friends For Therapeutic Equine Activities (FTEA), P.O. Box 1636, Warrenville, IL 60555-7636. Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved Mother. Indeed, she was one of my favorite patients. I remember her sweet smile, hear her cute laugh, and think of her thoughtful cards. May her memory be for a blessing.
