Lois Bowles Obituary

Bowles, Lois P. Lois P. Searcy was born to Walter and Fannie Searcy, November 7, 1922 in Memphis, TN; they moved to Chicago in 1923. She passed away on March 7, 2018. She attended Burke School, Dusable High School, graduated Roosevelt University and was a member of St. Edmonds Church. She was a Red Cross social worker and later a CPS teacher/counselor. In 1946 she married Thomas L. Pitts and to that union, Thomas L. Pitts Jr. was born. Lois was an avid bridge player, member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the National Smart Set Club and several other clubs. Widowed in 1961, she married Joseph A. Bowles Jr. in 1966. Lois retired from CPS in 1984 and traveled extensively. Preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, she's survived by her son, Thomas (Ruby); granddaughter, Katie; and nephew, Walter Jr. Interment was at Oak Woods Cemetery.
