Lloyd Mulay Obituary

Mulay, Lloyd L. 88, of Jacksonville, and formerly of Chicago, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation in White Hall. He was born October 27, 1927, in Chicago, the son of Larry L. and Harriette Lafayette Mulay. He married Anna Maloney on September 15, 1951, and she survives. Lloyd is also survived by two children, Patti (Jerry) Glenn of Jacksonville and Larry Mulay of Oak Lawn; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Estep and Jason Duncan, and three great-grandchildren, Joey, Jase, and Jori Estep, all of Jacksonville. He is also survived by one sister, Laurette Walas of Arizona and many cousins. Lloyd was a linotype operator for the Chicago Tribune for over 25 years. He played basketball as a young man and his softball team, Southtown Club for the Deaf, won championships six years in a row. He later developed a passion for bowling and traveled extensively to compete. He broke the all-time single record of the Great Lakes Deaf Bowling Association and held it for many years. He was also selected to the Great Lakes Deaf Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Lloyd also held memberships with the National Fraternal Society for the Deaf, 69th Club, and the Southtown Club for the Deaf. He loved taking pictures. Lloyd will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Hard to believe it's been 5 years. My Mom Marie just lost her last classmate Ann Brown, who also went to school with My Mom and Lloyd at Parker. They were all such good friends in the deaf community. She still talks about him and her many deaf friends that have passed on.

Dear Patty and Family, I was so sorry to read about the passing of your father. I remember him as a very nice and kind man.
Always willing to play a game with us or to let us play alone in your backyard. It is so difficult at this time of year, especially, but I am sure he is at peace. Please accept my sincere condolences and my best to your family. Diane Wiechern Rowan
