Lindy Carney Obituary

Carney, Lindy Gerald passed away on September 12, 2008. He was born on July 14, 1930 in Kanawha County, WV, the child of Lucy Dorus Lee and Carl Carney, and stepmother Alma Stickler. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jo and Phyllis and brother William. Lindy married Ruth Weisbeck on November 5, 1948. Survivors include wife Ruth, daughters Linda (John) Farrenkopf and Beverly Carney (Tom Sinks), and grandson Charles James "C.J." Farrenkopf. Lindy worked in the corrugated paper industry. He began his career at Owens-Illinois in Charleston, WV and Moved with the company to Circleville, Ohio as the Production Manager. His final work years were spent as Production Manager at Pride Container in Chicago, IL. In retirement, Lindy built gorgeous hand-crafted furniture, made to order. Later, he developed a passion for computers and was a brilliant computer troubleshooter. He built many a computer in his computer lab in the basement. He was a hard worker, a brilliant man and a devoted husband and father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Lindy and Ruth were to have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary November 5. Visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle (on Rt. 53, 1/2 mile South of Ogden Ave./Rt. 34).
