Dear Dad, it's coming up on 19 years since your passing. I miss your smile, your GIANT presence, your gentle heart and your giving soul. Your legacy was your continual charitable jester's...day after day. Year after year. One day I'll feel your bear hug again. I could never say I LOVE YOU near enough.

Dear Aunt Mary and Gang,
I have a very special memory of Uncle Lincoln. When I was about ten years old you had opened your home up to me due to some family crissis. When staying there, I grew enamored with Uncle Linc's collection of monk figurines. It was quite a beautiful and ecclectic group of statues. My fascintion was such that I could just sit at the top of your stair way for hours and just stair. It was then I learned from Uncle Linc what exactly a monk was. In response to my inquiry, he told me something to the affect that a monk was simply a man who gave his life to the love and service of God, whether that took the form of meditation or helping the poor. Ya know, there are very few things that I remember of high school spanish except perhaps the basics like hola and adios. But I do remember this. Spanish has two words to the verb "to Know," conocer and saber. Conocer is to know something imperically, and saber is to truly know and understand something in year heart. At 10 Uncle Linc taught me the definition of what a monk is, but his life has allow me "to truly know" what a monk; he was truly a man who gave his life to God in love and service.
