Prasczewicz, Leonard W.

Leonard W. Prasczewicz of Shorewood, formerly of Hoffman Estates, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2023 at the age of 87. Len was born on October 29 th, 1935 in Chicago and grew up on the near northwest side where he graduated from Steinmetz High School. Some of his fondest memories were telling stories about his adventures as a young boy in the city with his cousin Frankie, helping at his family's bar, and butcher shop, and running errands for his mom's hat business. Len proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as an airplane mechanic. He started his career at Pepsi at an early age and worked for 46 dedicated years before retiring. While working for Pepsi, he met his wife Jean. They were married 43 years before her passing. Len enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, attending his children's & grandchildren's sporting events, traveling, dancing, music, long country drives, and many trips with lifelong friends. Surviving are his 4 children Greg (Sandy), Mark (Janice), David (Crissy), and Lenny; 9 grandchildren Sydney, Andrew, Brendon, Shannon, Lauren, Connor, Kyra, Logan, and Matthew; his cousin Patricia and the late Frankie Jr. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM to until time of service at 3:00 PM at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated to Lightways Hospice in Joliet, or to the Dementia Society of America.
