Kuffel, Leona C. (nee Madalinski), 88, of Chicago, passed away January 30, 2004 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born July 27, 1915 in Chicago, she worked for the Zenith Corporation for 25 years. Beloved wife of the late Gilbert J. Kuffel, loving mother of Dennis J. (Marilyn nee Pascke) Kuffel, Donna L. (John) Latus nee Kuffel and Deborah A. (Carlos) Lopez nee Kuffel, devoted grandmother of Laurie (Richard) Ledgerwood, David (Carol) Kuffel, Jack (Karen) Latus and Jill (loving fiance, Jeff Ackerman) Latus, dearest great-grandmother of Dylan and Ashley Kuffel and Amanda, Andrea, Autumn and Zander Latus, giving and compassionate sister of the late Helen Kowal, Virginia Coe and Eugene (Gene) Brudney, loving aunt to many nieces. Mom you will always be in our hearts. We love you. Visitation Monday, 3 to 9 p.m. at the New Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines.
