Leland C. Smith

Leland C. Smith, of Everson, WA, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away in Bellingham, WA, on Thursday, March 29, 2007. He was 69, born in New Castle, IN, on July 5, 1937, to Esther (Malkemus) and Wilbur Smith. Leland served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Dept., where he was a Corrections Officer.
He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Alma Jean.
Leland was the beloved husband of his second wife, Lois Jean. He is survived by his daughters, Fawn Smith and fiancé Greg Porter, Kimberly and husband Steve Baumgartner; his stepsons, Jonny and Valter Vidas; grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Alexis, and Anthony; sister, Lavera Biddinger; and niece and nephew, Susan and Lowell Owens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
A visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon, on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, with a service following at 1 p.m., at Bayview Chapel (Lakeway & Woburn).
