Dr. Lee Gladstone offered me a generous severance pay when he began administering Martha Washtington's treatment program. He did not have to do so. For that, I am grateful. No one likes to experience a take over, but it can be done with generosity, as Dr. Gladstone did.

To the family of Dr. Lee Gladstone:
I had the honor and good fortune to meet Dr. Gladstone 20 years ago when he was Director of The Martha Washington Treatment Center. I am a health care professional who was going through a difficult time in my life. He was kind and supportive and his special abilities were what made the difference for me. Over the years I have thought about him numerous times and will never forget him. He was a wonderful person and I am sorry for your loss.

To Dr. Gladstone's family: I worked with Lee when I was the CEO at Martha Washington Hospital and Lee was the Director of the substance abuse program there. He was a great leader with vision on treatments for substance abuse. My deepest sympathy to all. Ed Bruun
