Lawrence Voyles Obituary

VOYLES Lawrence Ernest Lawrence E. Voyles, age 76, who was our beloved husband, father and grandfather, answered our Lord's call on November 15, 2007, at Foundation Park Alzheimer's Care Center in Toledo, OH, surrounded by his family. Larry was born on May 3, 1931, in Toledo, OH, to Jeptha and Dollie Voyles. He graduated from Libbey High School in 1949 and then went on to serve his country proudly with the United States Marine Corp. He was employed as a Maintenance Technician at General Mills for 39 years, retiring in 1994. In his retirement years, Larry enjoyed his family and many friends at their cottage at Manapogo Park Campground in Indiana. He also loved to entertain and receive guests at their home in Englewood, Florida. Larry loved to play golf with his wife and their many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents along with his sisters, Donna and Doris and his brothers, Jim and Walter. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 51 years; 7 children, Robb (Lori), Patrick (Marcia), Thomas (Lisa), Timothy (Colleen), Michelle (Terry) Crawford, Cathleen (Dan) Baden and Melissa (Robb) Moore. Also surviving is his sister, Shirley (Ken) Kruse and his very close sister-in-law, Myrtle Voyles. Larry was very proud of his 12 grandchildren who called him Grandpa: Lindsay, Daniel, John, Erin, Joseph, Christian, Kyle, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Ezra, Miranda and Hailey. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Sunday from 3:30-8 p.m. where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue Rd., with a visitation to begin at 9 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery Memorials may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire Foundation Park Alzheimers Care Center staff and special friends of Larry during his 15 month stay where the unconditional love and care he received never went unnoticed.
