Lawrence Smith Obituary

I'm so very sorry to hear about Lawrence's passing. We graduated from HV Jenkins in 1974.He was a kind hearted person.My prayers go out to the family.May God bless all of you.

Alethia and Smith Family,

On every Head Stone there are 2 years and a Dash in the middle. What we do within that Dash is what count, I have not seen or spoke to Lawrence in over Thirty years, so seeing the picture of him brings back memories of him in his 20s. But from the accolades everyone has written here, he was blessed to do well in his Dash between birth and death. Weeping last but a night, but joy comes in the morning. Praise God Lawrence you have reached your morning.

As I read through the entries the words "Well Done" come to my lips. Be proud of your Lawrence for it sounds as if he did his work well and to you I say "Well Done as well!" You are in my thoughts and prayers.

All good christians know that,"Man born of woman is but few days, and much troubles, but Lawrence your troubles are now over. The leaves are falling in Carver Village, but with the winter, comes the spring.

We're still in disbelieve that you were called home so soon. But all I can hear is well done good and faithful servant. Because that was the type of man you were. I have no bad memories of you ever, we were always laughing and messing with each other. You will truly be missed, but this is not a goodbye but see you soon. My prays are with you God mom. He'll always be looking down on us. And your Abundant Life family will always make sure your ok. We love you Deacon Smith!

To Aunt Diane Smith and Family:
It is a very difficult time for you, because I saw the joy and happiness Lawrence brought into your life. I pray that God will grant you the strength you will need doing this time of your life. It seems like yesterday that I had the privilege of meeting the sunshine of your life at La shay wedding. I know that God is too wise to make a mistake, so just lift up your head, lean and depend on Almighty God, and he will see you through. I love you Aunt Diane, and I know that God will carry you doing this phase of your life. My Prayer's and Love is with you always. Your Niece Khalilah and Fareed Ansari.

Lawrence was one of my dearest friends. We have known each other since childhood. He will be sadly missed. He would call me from time to time just to keep in touch. My prayers are with his family as you walk the last mile of the way with your loved one.

I am so sorry to hear this! I didn't even know Lawrence was in Jacksonville. My condolences are with you.

When i get to work in the morning it's hard not seeing you sitting there reading your bible greeting me with a good morning Brotha Holley,Lawrence words will never be enough to thank you for all your wisdom i got from you,the talks we had about your relationship with god and helping me to be a better father,husband,friend and most of all christian what you gave to my life you can't put a price on or describe with a few words i will miss you,but i cant bring myself to say goodbey so i'll just say i want see you for a while but will think of you and the great man you were always.
