Lawrence Keating Obituary

Keating, Lawrence Arthur age 70, of Roberts, formerly of Chicago. Died at 2:40 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2003, at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Rev. Joseph Mundakel, Officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 8th at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Roberts. Mr. Keating was born February 9, 1933, in Chicago, a son of Walter Thomas and Leona Lulla Bergeron Keating. He married Pauline Scalafini on May 22, 1965, in Chicago, also surviving are three daughters, Rose (Mario) Tarchala of Bartlett, Christine (Mike) Cantrell of Lyons, Jacqueline (Robb) Kirk of Roberts, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Edward Keating of Mountain Home, AR, Donald Keating of Burbank, one sister, Joan McCarthy of Edison Park, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Mr. Keating moved to Roberts from Chicago in 1997. He was a retired Lieutenant from the Chicago Fire Dept. He was a member of the Chicago Firefighters Union Local #2, the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Roberts, the Rantoul VFW and served in the U.S. Army. Memorial tributes may be made to the Roberts Fire Dept. 217-784-4641.
