LaMora Olewinski Obituary
LaMora Grace Olewinski (nee Abney) Age 84, of Wilmington, IL passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Wilmington. Born September 9, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Walter Thee and Dolly Evelyn (nee Gurney) Abney. LaMora was a proud and devoted homemaker for the majority of her life as well as a proud and devoted Chicago Cubs fan. She was a member of T.O.P.S. where she greatly enjoyed spending time with friends. She also loved to garage sale, play solitaire, and work crossword puzzles. Surviving are four children, Mike (Leta) Olewinski of Morris, IL, Steve (Laura) Olewinski of Mesa, AZ, Michele Salustro of Worth, IL, and Tina (Greg) Seiler of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Stanley Olewinski (1/9/2021), whom she married May 4, 1963 in Oak Lawn, IL; and two brothers, Walter and Leonard Abney. Visitation for LaMora will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. In honor of LaMora's love and dedication to the Chicago Cubs, the family is asking if you could please wear your favorite Cubs gear to the visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. Family and friends are invited to meet in the funeral home parking lot, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 by 9:30 a.m. to go in procession to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL for committal services.
