L. Lamer Obituary

L. Paul Lamer, 84, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Norman, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.L. Paul Lamer was born April 17, 1924 in Mission, Texas. He grew up in the Moore area. Upon graduation from Sacred Heart, Paul joined the Air Force. During World War II, he served in the Air Apaches 345th bomb group. After returning from the war, Paul attended the University of Oklahoma graduating with a degree in Petroleum Geology. On August 29, 1953, Paul married Mary Ann Oak in Wichita, Kansas. They were transferred to Oklahoma City living there for a number of years before moving to the Norman area where they have lived for the past 30 years.Paul and Mary Ann have four children and three grandchildren. Their children are Jennifer and Robert Elder of Dallas and their daughters Lauren and Amy; David Lamer of Norman; Lisa and Travis Gameson of Norman and Chris and Desira Lamer and their daughter Grace of Norman. Time will ease the pain but never erase the memories of him as a devoted, patient and loving husband and father. His dry sense of humor and his ability to see the positive will help us get through these difficult times if we look at life through "his eyes."His life will be celebrated with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday May 27, 2008 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Norman and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday May 28, 2008 at St. Mark's Catholic Church. Interment will follow after the family has received guests. Burial will be at Warren Cemetery in Norman.Memorial contributions may be made to Cal Farley's Boys and Girls Ranch or to any American Veterans group.Send condolences online at http://www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com/Obituaries.htm.Submitted by family
