Kurt,
I have only known you for the last 12 years of your life. You were a great son to you mom and a dear brother to your sisters. In the last several years I got to know you for the fine person that you were. I enjoyed talking cars, football, baseball, and all other things that we talked about. We never got to take that picture of our Monte Carlos side by side like we talked about. Sorry, Kurt, I just got mine back When I am at your mom's house, I miss you not popping in and out of the house weekends. I hope that you are at peace, life is very hard, and sometimes can be over-whelming. But we all love you and now you are with God, may he watch over you as he did in this life. You will always be a great friend of mine. Till we meet again in the next life,
Bob

To Kurt's Family and Friends:
Kurt was loved by many and will be missed by many - especially me. I loved Kurt so much and will miss him dearly. Losing a child is one of the worst things that can ever happen. The sorrow is even deeper because I lost Kurt so suddenly. I try to think of him as not "gone away" but as if his journey's just begun. I pray each day that God will give me the strength I need to face this loss. I am very thankful that I have my two wonderful daughters and likewise a wonderful boyfriend that are there for me whenever I need a shoulder to cry on. I know Kurt would want me to fill the void with remembered joy and this is what I am trying to do.

Dear Eileen, Treva, Lisa & Michelle,
I am so sad about Kurt that it is hard to express my thoughts. Even though I have not seen Kurt much in the past few years, he remains in my heart. As his former step-mom, I have many memories - especially his great love and knowledge of cars and the fact when he was small, we could not go shopping without purchasing that special match box car! I remember when Jeremy was born, he was such a good big brother. I feel badly that Kurt was hurting and was unable to ask for help even though everyone who loved him would have done all they could to help, if we had known. Although I am separated from the Decker family, the memories of over 20 years are in my mind and heart. I'm sure we all look back in our lives and would do things differently if we could, and this is no different. I hope Kurt is at peace and with his Dad and they both know they are loved and missed.

I met Kurt when we were four years-old. He was my best friend growing up - we shared everything! Even though our last few years were distant, I'll always love him. I still remember our childhood, my friend...I miss you!
