To Mark, Barb, and the Renderman and Venezia families:
Please find comfort in remembering that Kevin found happiness in many things during his brief time on this earth...
He had faith which sustained him..
He had friends who were always there for him...
He had dedicated caregivers who were devoted to him...
He had many prayers said on his behalf...
He had "Team Kevin"...
And yes, he even had the Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks to enjoy...
But most of all, he had YOU.
-From a friend and fellow St. Christina parishioner.

I was so sorry to hear about Kevin's passing. Although I only knew Kevin for a short time when he came to the Ludden Speech Clinic at SXU last summer; he was such as inspiration for me and the student clinician who worked with him. He tried so hard and made amazing progress. He would always make us laugh with that great sense of humor, even when he was exhausted after hours of physical therapy. He was very proud to tell us how many steps he could take on his own. My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family. I feel he must be in heaven because he brought so much joy and inspiration to everyone he met.

To The Renderman Family,

Please accept my condolences for your loss. Kevin was a wonderful person taken far too soon from this earth and I am so deeply saddened to hear that he's lost his courageous battle with cancer. It was a pleasure to have him as a classmate at St. Christina and my thoughts and prayers are with your family during this painful time.

To Kevin's family:

I was devastated when I heard the news of Kevin's passing. I am a Registered Nurse and I took care of Kevin on the night shift quite often during his stay with us on 6 South years ago. I have never forgotten about him. Taking good care of Kevin was very important to me. When I looked at him, I felt like I was looking at one of my own brothers. I would often stay past my shift because I would be in his room trying to make sure he was comfortable, spending extra time trying to understand what he needed, or holding his cup of Gatorade for him so he could drink. I remember so many details about his stay with us. I remember the poster boards filled with pictures and that he loved the White Sox! He will always have a place in my heart, my memories, and in my prayers. I wish you all peace, love and comfort in knowing that you gave him such a wonderful life and showed great strength and love when he needed it the most. God bless.

Many Prayers,

Michele Shaar, RN

February 3, 2015

Dear Barb, Mark, and family,
We are so truly saddened by your loss. Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time. I still remember when Kevin took Mary to a dance at Marist early on in High School. He was such a nice young man, so polite and kind. I remember when he came to our house about a week later with pictures from the dance for her. I thought this is such a nice boy. You can tell he comes from a good family. And I believe that to be so true. When I first heard that Kevin was ill, my heart just broke for you. i knew he would have all the love and support possible. i have included you all in my prayers everyday, and will continue to do so. I pray that you have all the love and support you need at this time and always. I know you will hold Kevin in your hearts forever, and your cherished memories will lift your spirits. You have our sincerest condolences. Kurt, Margaret, and Mary Berg (St. Christina Class of 2001)

To Kevin's Family,

While we know there are no words of comfort that could erase your grief right now, please know that we are thinking of you and you are in our thoughts and prayers as is Kevin. We never had the opportunity to meet Kevin but feel we knew him through all of the wonderful things we heard about him from Justin and Katie. His time on Earth may have been short but it is clear that he made an enormous impact on so many people. He is clearly an example of tremendous courage and strength and he is in a better place and will remain with all of you in spirit until you see him again. Keep him close in your hearts and he will never really be far away. Our deepest sympathy, Mark and Diane Pejkovich (Katie Livaich's Aunt and Uncle).

Linda Renderman

February 2, 2015

Mark, Barb, Dave, Justin,Matt and Stephanie, you are the perfect example of a loving and determined family who made a collective decision to support and encourage Kevin through the good times and bad throughout his ordeal. Your positive outlook and your efforts to work with him in his rehab and to include him in everyday family activities made his struggle easier. He didn't ask us to feel sorry for him - that wasn't his way. He just wanted to be treated as Kevin - the normal, let's have fun guy from Chicago. We all wanted to have Kevin with us for a long, long time. We will always have him with us in our hearts as we re-tell our stories and memories of Kevin. We will remember Kevin when the Hawks, Sox, Bears and Michigan play. We will toast him with Slainte on holidays and on many times in between.
He will always be with family and friends for he will always be in our hearts. Love ya, honey.
Aunt Linda

To my Aunts, Uncles and cousins, I would like to let everyone know how much I love you. We may not see each other often, but I hope all of you know how much you mean to me. Kevin brought us altogether when we were busy with our own lives. I am so thankful for that. Although we all feel so broken right now, we should honor Kevin by keeping in touch. At a young age, Kevin taught us so much. His determination and spirits was unbelievable. But nothing was bigger than his heart. He is a hero in the minds of many. And he's ours. I love you all so much. God bless.
