My deepest condolences to Pat and her family. I've known Kevin since grammar school and all the way through high school. I just found out the other day and I am still in shock. Kevin was a great person and a wonderful friend. May God be with you through this difficult time.

You don't know me, but I also lost my son, tragically & without warning. May you find the strength to cope. I pray for any parent who has had to bury a child. I know the pain. May God be with you

Trish, Liam, Erin, Brian & Brendan,
I wish there was some way that I could make what your going through easier but alas, I can't. Just know this, Kevin is in the happiest place he's ever been now and, if I know Kevin, having the best time he's ever had! He's probably already made a whole new group of friends and telling them all about you guys and how wonderful you were to him in his short time here. He is without pain, guilt or sadness. He is watching all of us now and is delighted at all the old friends & family that are celebrating his life. He will be with us always because as the saying goes "fingerprints that have touched a life never really fade away" and Kevin has touched so many lives including mine. Love you Doherty's.

Kevin was a spectacular person and will live on in many, many people's hearts forever. He was one of the best friends I have EVER had and I love and miss him dearly. My condolences to his fellow friends and family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Kevin - You will truly be missed. I will always remember you busting your lip open when I babysat, the bamboo fishing poles with no reels, and the crazy long walks you'd make us go on in wisconsin to the pool - all memories that make me laugh. I hope you are at peace & watching over your family. May God welcome you with open arms.

Kevin was a great friend to me in high school. He was never really upset about anything and could always make me laugh when i was upset. Kevin your the best.

To Kevin's family: My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I will always remember Kevin, he lit up the room whenever he was in it. He would always bring a smile to your face and was so full of life. I only knew him a few years but will always have the memories of working with him at Bourbon Street. Kevin you will be missed!

It's so hard to believe that I'm sitting here writing on this. Kev I will never forget all our great memories as kids and the amount of laughs we shared. I will always think of you and smile. You were such an amazing cousin who I loved so so much and will always carry you with me. Your infectious laugh, great smile and amazing sense of humour will never die in our hearts. I love you cuz today, tomorrow and always.

Kevin was a dedicated, joyous, and loving friend. From working with him at Applebee's to meeting up at the Southside Irish parade to hanging out with him and his wealth of friends and family members all over Chicagoland, I can't even begin to describe all of the wonderful times we have had. I miss him and love him so much. Family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kevin and his family lived across the street from my grandparents in Bridgeview growing up. As we aged, he often times would come to our family parties, he was like part of our family. I will never forget Kevin's amazingly humongous smile and contagious laughter. He was a riot! We all have our favorite stories of our friendship with Kevin and may those wonderful memories bring us all comfort! May you rest in peace Kevin. I love you and will never ever forget you!!

Dear Doherty Family,
What a lovely young man Kevin was and how sad we are for your loss. Kevin was so polite... if he caught me in the hall on the way to the garbage cans he'd always take the bags from me. Once I wanted to use the dryer, so I folded his things and put them by his door. He actually wrote me a thank you note! You raised a fine young man, and you had him to enjoy for too short a time.
Cherish the good times, let go of the bad. Remember his smiles and his hugs. God bless you all.

What to say about someone i loved so dearly. Kevin was not only my cousin, but one of my best friends. He truly had the ability to light up any room that he walked into, and put a smile on your face even when you were down. Kevin was full of life, but his life was just cut too short. Kevin has been part of my life for 20+ years. He was my best friend and no matter what he was always there for me. He had a great personality and always knew how to make everyone around him laugh! Words can not explain the pain I'm feeling right now! This is truly the hardest part of my life so far.. I know I will be with Kevin one day, but his day came to soon. Kevin was a dear friend of mine for 9 years. I had the most fun with him, and he had the biggest heart. And now there's a hole in mine. I'll miss him so much and I will always love him.

From the day you were born you have held a special place in my heart and although a part of that is broken you will remain there forever.
