Kenneth Spicer Obituary

Kenneth Maitland Spicer, 84, of Villamont went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 15, 2006. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served his country in World War II. He was retired from APECO with 35 years of service. Kenneth was a avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edith Spicer; brother, Lee Spicer; and sister, Little Ruth Spicer. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mary Catherine Spicer; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sandra Spicer; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Allan Paterson all of Villamont; granddaughter, Stormi Wilson and her husband Bryan of Wilson, N.C.; sisters, Lorraine Ellis and her husband Bill of Concord, Va., Emma Bechtel and her husband Sam of Florida, Irma Poff of Piedmont, S.C.; brother, Darrell Spicer of Roanoke; also are a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Colonial Baptist Church Missions Fund 221 Hillcrest St. Blue Ridge, Va. 24064. Graveside funeral services will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens 2 p.m. Wednesday October 18, 2006 with the Rev. Joel Wegner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's East Chapel [Bonsack] 977-3909.
