For whatever reason, I read my Illinois Alumni Magazine instead of throwing it away as I usually do. I was pleased to see my (fraternity) Brother's name and then dismay and sadness hit me like a brick when I saw it was the "In Memoriam" section.
Ken and I lived on the same floor for two years and he was always the calm, rational, and shining example of what an older Brother should be. He will be sorely missed as that Brother and I will light "candles" both here and the local Adoration Chapel in my parish where I will pray for him and his family.

I was very saddened to hear of Ken's passing. He was a great friend and, together with Gene Honda, a terrific powderpuff football coach for the Triangle Little Sister's team. They both showed great patience in coaching us and the team was very successful from all their hard work. He was always fun and funny, gentle and thoughtful. He will be missed greatly by many. My thoughts and prayers are with Beth and the rest of Ken's family.

Beth, I am so saddened by Ken's passing at such a young age, and I hope that he was able to enjoy life with you after we all left Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, Ltd. I will treasure all the memories I have had of him and you since we met more than 20 years ago. Take care.

We are so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. We have so many great memories of the golf trips to Kalamazoo, what fun times. Ken always had a smile and a kind word to say. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. Twenty six years ago, we were colleagues at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank. Ken was fun, hard working, and always a complete gentleman, and that is how I have always remembered him. With sincere condolences to the Shimashita family.
