Dave, Darren, and Deanne,
We are so sorry for the loss of your father. I enjoyed many years of teaching in the same building with Ken and have many fond memories of the good laughs. Ken did a tremendous job in the classroom and on the mat. He worked with both of our sons Ryan and Keith and taught them a lot. We will miss him.

Dear Droegemueller family,

As a student and coach of Osseo athletics, I could not have been more proud to have been associated with such a fine person as Ken. As a student, Ken commanded the deepest respect that teenage kids can have, and as a coach Ken provided the icon of what high school athletics should be about, developing people to achieve the most in life when they leave the sport. God bless your whole family, and thanks for everything that Ken has given to so many.

Dear Dave and Weston,

I'm truly sorry about the passing of your grandfather/father. Even though i only met the man once Coach Kelly always would say some of his famous quotes during practice. It was really nice of you two to come to my practice to get Weston and I better even after he died

Thank you again and I'm Sorry

Jason and I were neighbors with Ken up until 6 months ago when we moved to Rogers. While we were neighbors we had many fond conversations with him. He always told us of how proud he was of his children. He would tell us lots of great stories of their adventures and his as well. We sure enjoyed watching and talking with Margaret and Ken while they gardened or did misc yard work. He will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Droegemueller, Darren and his family during this difficult time. I graduated from Osseo High School in 1988 and had great respect for him as a teacher and a wrestling coach. He was wonderful to his students, wrestlers and cheerleaders alike and was enjoyed by everyone at Osseo High School.

Dave,Darren,and Deanne:
We will truly miss your father as he was great man of character and integrity. We have known your family all of our lives as next door neighbors in Worthington to the present. It was great to see how many lives Ken touched in so many ways as we celebrated his life this past weekend. His memories will live on and one day we shall share those again with him. From the Perry family to you we can only cherish this time we have and go out make a difference in as many people's lives as we can just like Ken did. We share in the family's sorrow at this time of the loss of a father, grandfather, sibling, companion, as friends of Ken's. We've read many accolades of Ken's wrestling achievements, but Ken was, also, a great classroom teacher. Larry taught across the hall from Ken in Wgtn High School. He was a great motivator in the classroom as well as on the mat. He, also, strongly believed in discipline and his students and athletes knew that. He had fun with a student he caught smoking in the school's bathroom by yelling "fire" and then dumping a pail of water on the kid in the stall. Larry usually knew if Ken was nervous about an upcoming match as he would wander through Larry's work shop "picking" at his face. Ken taught good sportsmanship by example with a smile and a handshake--win or lose. Ken enjoyed fishing. We spent some family time fishing for bullheads in the spring, a couples fishing outing to Nest Lake by Willmar, Larry did the annual teacher's fishing trip with Ken for many years. He enjoyed his church, his faith, his family and his friends. He enjoyed a good joke and would show it with his smile and unique chuckle. We, also, were neighbors in Wgtn living on the same street. We spent many summer evenings outside with the neighbors while our kids played and the adults probably had a beer. These are just a few memories that space would allow us to share. Ken will be physically missed, but his memories will live on forever. May his family and friends receive comfort from so many great memories and their faith in God that Ken is now at peace. Our condolences to all that loved Kenny.

Dave, Darren and Deanne,
I am sorry to hear the sad news about your father. I had first met your dad when he came hunting on our farm near Fulda while teaching in Worthington. When your family moved to Maple Grove I again met you all, this time as your teacher at Elm Creek. May you find comfort in these days to come. Your dad was so well liked and respected in the Osseo District.

Kenny and I grew up togather in Windom. He lived a block behind my house we spent many a sunny afternoon catching turtles by hand down at the slough. As a child he was my best friend. After graduation we lost touch untill last summer when kenny,Merle Cary and I did a 3-way conversation. We had alot of laughs talking about the past. We had hoped to get togather when he recovered as he was as always a very positive person I will miss him. MY sympathy to family

I had a chance to observe Ken's Worthington wrestling teams in the early 70s as an opposing competitor and fan. I have also followed his success, and that of his children, at Osseo. I was always impressed with his demeanor and integrity. He left an indelible mark on the sport of wrestling.

May he rest in peace. My prayers are with his family.

David, Darren and Deanne,

I am so sorry to read of your Dad's passing. He brought many years of excitement to the Trojan wrestling faithful in Worthington. It brings a smile to my face when I remember some of our bus trips with "Droege" and the wrestlers! He was a terrific teacher and a mentor to so many people. My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.

I am a Wayzata High School wrestler alumni and extremely proud to be an alumni of Wayzata Wrestling and Minnesota State Wrestling (1983 graduate). In the seventh grade my friend Jim Blank and I attended the St. John’s Wrestling Camp. At this camp I met Ken. Let me tell you that when you carry a memory over thirty years, it is a good memory. I remember to this day like it was yesterday playing pool in the rec-hall after day camp with Ken and Roger Lipelt. Ken was so kind and gentle, a caring man who was devoting his life to teaching and caring for kids. As I grew older and wrestled at the high school level I will never forget the outstanding respect that Ken held for every wrestler whether from Osseo or any school. It did not matter if you won against one of his wrestlers or lost to one of his wrestlers, he was the first person at the edge of the mat to greet you with a handshake, a pat on the butt, and that Ken Droegemueller gentle smile for a match well wrestled.

Dave, Darren, Deanne and your families: Your father, father in-law & grandpa will be remembered by many. My message is just one of several remembrances of many wresters throughout this state. Ken was a class act that brought dignity and respect to our sport and to everyday life. He was a man who cared for others as he would care for his family and wrestling team.

Ken is now at peace. I look forward to a day in the future that we will sometime play pool again. For now I will remember the teachings of one of the greatest coaches I have known and hope that I can build my life on Ken’s teachings.

We have such fond memories of Ken during his time at Worthington High School. We were (and are) avid wrestling fans...Dennis was an elementary coach under Ken at WHS. Ken was one of the most honest and sincere persons I have ever met in education, coaching and life!
