On this day, the first anniversary of your passing, my thoughts are with you. I miss our daily telephone conversations. Most of all I miss you. Your my baby brother and will always be that. I think of you often and love you as a brother.

My Dad...

Do you remember...his laugh, his smile?

Do you remember...his walk, his eyes?

Do you remember...his dreams, his secrets?

Do you remember his...generosity, his compassion?

Do you remember his...love?

We remember, we'll always remember.

He lives with us everyday. Sometimes the memories are wonderful, sometimes painful.

But they are OUR memories, and everday we have a new one to keep.

He hasn't left us, he simply moves around us, beside us.

Dad, we love and miss you each and every day.

As we approach the one year anniversary of my Dad's death, we're all grateful for the love and support this past year from friends and family. My Dad lives on in all of us, as we've inherited his love for his family, corn on the cob, helping others, "food focus", to name a few. Although I miss him terribly, I know that he's never really gone from us, as I have such great memories that will live on forever.

Grandpa,

I am so lucky to have had a grandfather like you. You have left me with so many wonderful memories to look back on and smile. And yes, even the "Black Bart" story!

Thank you for always being supportive, caring and always making me feel important to you. Thank you for being such a positive influence on my life,

I will miss you, you will always be in my heart

Love,

Amie Lyn

Dear Ken,

I will miss the chats about the fire house and the "city". You are a hero, doing a dangerous job when not many people would have. I joked with you about how crazy it is to run into a burning house, when eveyone was running out. Seeing that picture of you carring that girl out of a fire straightened that out for me. You are a good man with a great heart.

I have always admired my "Uncle Kenny". From the days when I was a young boy, in awe of this big strong Fireman, to our later years when I grew to appreciate your love and friendship.

On this day and always you will be with me. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends.

Love Dave

Dear Uncle Ken,

Some of the best memories I have growing up are of Grandma and I coming to visit you. Aunt Verlee would always have the Good Luck Cookies, and you guys had that really great dollhouse.

I am sorry I cannot be there to honor your memory, but please know that you are in my heart.

With love,

Uncle Ken,

My mom always said that you were such a wonderful family man. You leave behind a loving family with thousands of stories to tell about your kindness and decency. We say goodbye to you here, but on the other side, I know the rest of the family, with pinochle cards in hand, are saying,"Welcome home". Save some seats for the rest of us and be proud of all you did to set the standard for what it means to be a great man.

I love you.

Dear Grandpa Buchholz,

I have fond memories of our times together, going to Lawry's for chicken, out for a good fish fry and up to Michigan. I always enjoyed our conversations about the Firehouse days and old times. These are good memories I will pass on to Julia and Steven. You were always kind and caring to many people. Your shared your time with others at Church, feeding the poor, Kawanis, the nursing home and more. You and Grandma Buchholz are great role models. You will be missed.

Dear Ken, You were and always will be my baby brother. As kids we shared the same bed. I'm sorry you had to put up with the smell of horses from your big brother.

We grew apart when I joined the Army and you the Navy, but we always stayed in touch. The last few years we became as close as brothers could possibly be.

I love you and though you are gone from this earth you will always be in my heart.

Love,

Your big brother, Richard.
