Kathryn Zissis Obituary

Zissis, Kathryn J. age 91, passed away on March 18th, just 12 days short of her 92nd birthday. A longtime Oriole Park resident, she was a private piano teacher to hundreds for over 40 years. With a Masters Degree in Music from DePaul University, she taught music at St. Tarcissus Elementary School for 15 years. Prior to having children, Kathryn was an opera singer for the Starlight Opera Company in San Diego, CA. A woman of staunch religious faith, she will be well remembered for her spiritual support to all those who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Georgianna (George) Theoharis, Irene, and Jeannette, and her son, John (Cecilia), as well as her grandchildren, Peter, Francesca, Katherine, Johnny, Alaina, and Marie. A funeral service will be held at St. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview, IL 847-729-2235 on Tuesday, March 23rd, at 9:30 a.m.
