Kathryn "Sis" Hawes, nee Mahoney, 89, September 1, 2021, Lifetime resident of the South Side of Chicago- Canaryville neighborhood, beloved wife and best friend for 66 years to the late James A. "Mouse" Hawes; loving mother of James "Putter" (Nancy) Hawes, Kathy (late Don) Fuller, Kevin (Teri), Cheryl, late Denise (Dennis) Heis, Terese (Wally) Goga, and William (Mary Beth) Hawes; devoted grandmother of Dan (Gina) Hawes, Nikki Fuller, the late Brett Fuller, Kyle (Alyssa) Fuller, Rick (Jean) Heis, Dennis (Erin) Hawes, C.F.D., Lacey (Steve Farns) Heis, Rachel, Kevin, Katie Hawes, Brian, Danielle Goga, James and Victoria Hawes. Dearest Great grandmother of Jim and Jackie Heis, Gavin Farns, Audrey and Haley Hawes, Lily an Evan Hawes, and Parker Altergott; loving daughter of the late Margaret Mahoney (nee Ahern) and Daniel Mahoney; dear sister of Daniel (late Eileen) Mahoney, late John (late Betty) Mahoney, and Thomas (Bea) Mahoney; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Friend to all who knew her.
Services at McINERNEY CENTRAL CHAPEL, 4635 S. Wallace St., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, September 8, 2021, 9:15 a.m., at chapel, to St. Gabriel Church, 600 W. 45th St., Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Burial St. Mary's Cemetery.
