I was very saddened to hear that Kathy had passed away. A close friend forwarded the information to me yesterday. I had known Kathy through her former work associates Beverly and Laurel when they worked for the phone company on the Northside of Chicago way back in the 1970's. The four of us along with my former Chicago Police Dept partner Mike Hilden had many very pleasent times together over supper and conversation at a nice neighbor hood restaurant on Bryn Mawr Ave. I had not been in contact with Kathy or her friends since about the mid 1980's, but Kathy left a lasting inpression with me as a fun loving, caring and well centered person. Sadly, Kathy passed away on my 62nd birthday. My deepest sympathy to her family.

To the O'Shea Family:

I had the pleasure of working with Kathy while she took care of national sales in Arlington Heights. I always knew when she was around because she brightened the office with her spunk, wit and wisdom.

I had the good fortune to work across from Kathy when she returned from retirement to work for SBC. She was such a wonderful, kind hearted woman. I always admired her devotion to her dog Mahoney who was frightened of thunder. Anytime we had a stormy day, she would always rush to leave work on time so that she could go comfort her little companion. It was this tremendous amount of compassion that made her so very unique. I consider myself very fortunate to have known Kathy. She was one of those individuals that made this world a better place. I wish all of her loved ones peace and comfort.

To all of Kathy's loved ones: I first met Kathy when my job transferred to Chicago in the Spring of 2000. I was nervous and a bit frightened to be moving away from my family and friends in Michigan. To my surprise and absolute delight, the first person I met in my new office was Kathy O'Shea. Her animated personality came right at me the moment we met. And although we worked together for only a few months, I will remember her fondly, not only for being so warm and gracious to me, but to everyone, all the time. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
