Mr.McMahon and Maggie
I was so saddeden to learn of your loss. Mrs.McMahon (your mom) was part of some of my favorite childhood memories; riding up to the lake with Cuddles and Pheonia, listening to the Beaches soundtrack and Genesis, and painting apples on her classroom windows at the beginning of the school year. Mrs. McMahon (your mom) was a classy woman who taught me that a tall woman could capture any room that she walked into.
You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Joe,
We were shocked to find out about Kathleen. I had just found a picture of Flo, Kathleen , Suzanne and I from a lunch that the Carsons girls had in Oak Brook (in the mid eighties). It was the last time we got together for lunch. I gave Flo the picture and said that we should do that again. So needless to say we were devasted when Flo read in the Trinity news letter of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Maggie.

I am one of the receptionists for Kathleen's family doctor and have known her for a few years. I was always happy to see her name on the schedule because she was always so pleasant and easy to work with. I was so sorry to hear about her illness but last time I saw her just after she was diagnosed I told her to remember she was a very strong woman. Never saw her after that but did think of her often and sent a few cards. I was so sorry to hear of her passing and wanted to extend my sympathy to all her family. She was a beautiful woman and once when I found out who her mother was, I told her she came from some good genes and could see how good she would age, never imagining she would only live to be 53. She will be missed by all of us here in the office. Sandy Vanderway

I remember when I first started dating Kevin, Joe and Kathleen were the first ones that I met at a Kelly wedding. We both had on red dresses that night and I remember hoping that I looked as stunning as she did. Kathleen was very warm and friendly and welcomed me into the family. We had some great times - Long Beach, Christmas Eve 1988 at their house in Berwyn and, of course, Kathleen's surprise 40th birthday party that Joe threw for her. Our prayers are with Joe and Maggie and the Powers family.

Joe, Maggie, and all the Powers family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Kathleen was such a memorable, vibrant part of my life growing up in Long Beach and I'll never forget her chasing Bourbon (the dog, not the bottle) down the beach at stop 28. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Much love,

Dear Joe and family,
Many of my fondest memories include Kathleen.....summers at the beach, Long Beach Pool, 212 Outdoor Theater, sitting on her seawall or at Stop 23, weekends at John Carroll University and her beautiful wedding to the love of her life.
Back in the day, by hand, she embroidered an American flag on the back pocket of my jeans.
She was absolutely so passionate about her family and the friends around her.
I feel quite lucky to have those memories and also mourn your loss.

Joe,
I am so sad for you both. I will miss Kathleen.I don't even remember a time where there was Joe-- and no Kathleen--she was always a part of our extended family-- with her wry wit and long legs. I am so glad I had the chance to be with the two of you together, razzing each other, last summer at Kristina Kelly's wedding in Michigan. That is how I will remember her-with Joe at her side, Being frank--no BS and always funny.
Much love and sympathy,
Your Cousin, Madeleine

Dear Maggie and Family, I'm so sorry over the passing of your dear mother and friend, Kathleen. I have numerous memories of Kathleeen when we taught at St. Leonard School. I met Clyde "up close and personal" when we were doing a school project. Kathleen, Clyde, and myself went for food and Clyde was licking me as we traveled in the car. I remember when Kathleen many years ago said I would make a good chaplain. Well, Kathleen, your influences and encouraging words have come true! I am a chaplain at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. You touched numerous lives, Kathleen. Your family and friends will hold you near and dear to their hearts... Love, Chaplain Carole R. DiZeo
