Kathy was by first friend when I moved to Our Lady of Peace Parish in third grade. She lived across 78th Street from me on Ridgeland. We used to have great times in her apartment and her family was really nice to me. One of our favorite things to do on the way home from school was to fling our bookbags down the sidewalk to see who could get theirs the farthest. That ended in a hurry when our bags became worn out before their time. Kathy's family achieved both our dreams of moving into a house first. She was beautiful, had a great smile and was lots of fun. I haven't seen her since I was 13, but I have vivid memories or our time together that I will cherish.

One of my best buddies has gone to a better place though she will always be in my heart. There I cherish so many wonderful childhood memories. My thoughts and prayers are with the family to soften the pain. Kathleen will be with us always!

Symphathies to the family from me and her other classmates of Our Lady of Peace School (South Shore area), class of 1966. I wish I had known her better, but I live so far from Lansing. She certainly lit up our class reunions when we were lucky enough to have her in attendance.

I just learned about Kathy from Pam. There are no words to express my feelings right now. I want you all to know I will say a pray for her. I will always remember the great times we had together at CCOM. I was really fortunate to have her as my friend.
