I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Katie's passing. She interned on my team at the University of Chicago where her work provided valuable contributions to pediatric cancer research. She was such a kind person and my colleagues and I truly enjoyed working with her. I pray that your memories of Katie will bring you comfort during this time.

Katie was my locker partner during our four years at Fenwick. I remember her as one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever met. She always had a smile on her face, and I deeply admired her strength and bravery as she battled her illness. Katie was a very special person. Wishing peace and comfort to the Karas family as you grieve your loss.
