LUNENBURG -- Karen (Fraticelli) Walsh, 39 of 130 Mulpus Rd., died Wednesday, Dec. 18, in her home after an illness.
Mrs. Walsh was born in Leominster on July 4, 1963, and had lived there before moving to Lunenburg in 1992. She graduated from Leominster High School as a member of the National Honor Society in 1981. She then graduated magna cum laude from Fitchburg State College in 1985 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
Mrs. Walsh was a registered nurse and worked from 1985 to 1995 at Burbank Hospital on the Med/Surg and Maternity floors. She then worked for Allmerica Insurance Co., in Worcester, as a utilization review nurse until 1998. From 1998 to the present, she worked for Interqual Company in Newton, as a senior clinical information specialist.
She leaves her husband of 19 years, Michael P. Walsh of Lunenburg; a son, Michael P. Walsh II of Lunenburg; three daughters, Erin M. Walsh, Heather L. Walsh and Megan R. Walsh, all of Lunenburg; her parents, Roland J. and Ann (Crowley) Fraticelli of Leominster; a brother, Michael Fraticelli of Fitchburg; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
WALSH -- On Dec. 18, Karen (Fraticelli) Walsh, 39, of Lunenburg. The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of All Saints, 1469 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be in the South Cemetery. Calling hours in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, (www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net), 763 Massachuetts Ave., Lunenburg are Sunday, Dec. 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Faber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, Mass. 02215; or the Walsh Children Educational Fund, c/o the Enterprise Bank and Trust Co., 4 Central St., Leominster, Mass. 01453; and may be left at the funeral home.
