It has been a year since the passing of my dear friend Karen. Missing her has not diminished my grief. She will be in my heart forever.

Karen was my cousin. She phoned my mother just days before she went into the hospital. I spoke to her a few months prior to that. None of us had any idea that those conversations would be the last we'd ever exchange. Her passing was a complete shock. In the years since she moved from Michigan to Chicago, we didn't often see Karen. The family would get together primarily for the 'big events'. Whenever she came back, though, it was always a pleasure to see and talk with her. Her family here in Michigan will miss her and remember her with love.

Karen and I have been friends since we met when we both worked in Southfield, Mi. back in 1975. She came to my wedding in Ma. when I married my husband in 1979 with Bob. I always enjoy seeing the pics of us all the the Union Oyster House. She was and always has been my closest friend, the one I could tell everything and she with me. I can't believe I won't pick up the phone and say, there you are again.
You will be in my heart and thoughts the rest of my life.
