Iwanowski, Karen

Karen Iwanowski, age 71, of La Grange, formerly of Chicago, passed away on May 18, 2024. Beloved wife of Mark Iwanowski for a wonderful 49 years. Loving sister of Joseph (Evelyn) Gill, the late Margaret "Peggy" (Guy) Fragnoli, Vicki Gill, Terry Gill, and Nadine (William) Orkild. Dear aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Angela Gill. Karen will be remembered for her love of traveling and gardening. She could always be found with her hands in the dirt of her garden. Above all, she loved her family. Memorial visitation 3 to 9pm Thursday, May 30th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, where evening prayers will be said at 6:30pm. Family and friends are invited to meet the family for a 10am Memorial Mass on Friday, May 31st at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., LaGrange. In memory of Karen, flowers are welcome, or a memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org/donate. Interment private. For Full Obituary: HJfunerals.com or 708-352-6500
