Dear Karen's family,
I met Karen years ago when our daughters (Chloe and Jen) were on a DYBA softball team. Whenever I ran into Karen after that, she always blew me away because she remembered all the details of the Newman family. Karen was a very special person who created good feelings and laughter wherever she went. I was stunned to learn that she is no longer with us and I wanted you to know that her passing impacts more people than you could possibly know. I am so sad that she is no longer with us and my deepest sympathies are with all of your family.
Sincerely,
Sue Newman

To all who have signed this and any who are yet to sign- I wanted to thank you on behalf of my family. It has been truly heart-warming to see how my mom was loved and appreciated outside of our family. Thank you for your condolences.

As a member of the community, and a past band memeber of Highland Park High School I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to the family. We all know she's always with us in our thoughts and in our hearts. She will always be remembered.

Peter and I found Karen's memorial service incredibly moving. Her spirit was palpable in the room. So many loved her, so many will miss her. Our thoughts are with you all. Elise and Peter

I was greatly saddened to hear of Karen Hamity's passing. She was a woman of truly breathtaking beauty, uncommon grace, artistic talent, and, most importantly, a devoted mother of three accomplished and talented children. She and her family are in my prayers. God bless them and comfort them (in a way that our human efforts cannot) as they cope with their grief. Our entire community is bereaved and she will be sorely missed.
With prayerful sorrow,
Pauline Dessler
