Dear Julia, I know you would shrug off all the accolades but believe me, you brought a lot of new RNs into this crazy health care world with your common sense and genuine compassion for all. Thanks for "growing me up", too! God bless you on your way! Fran Frame

My deepest sympathies to your family. I worked with Julia in the MICU. She was an inspiration, a great teacher, a kind and compassionate caregiver. I am honored to have known her. She inspired excellence in many nurses.

I worked with Julia for many years at CCF/MICU, she was my mentor, and my "IDOL" in the nursing world. She was such an excellent caregiver, kind, compassionate, caring, such a great teacher and what a smile. She always would go that extra mile in whatever she did!! I am so sorry for your loss, she will truly be missed. I am so glad I knew her. Debbie Guzman

Julia was my right hand when I moved from Texas 17 years ago to manage the MICU at Cleveland Clinic. She was such a positive influence on all of the staff and I could not have survived without her. She was a tremendous nurse and her family should be very proud of her. I will never forget her. Please find peace in the fact that she had a positive impact on so many people. Nancy Bair

I worked with Julia in the MIC at CCF. It was my first job out of nursing school. That's 30 years ago. I learned so much from Julia. What an amazing caregiver! We would laugh til our sides ached. I moved on after a few years but I always thought of Julia and the knowledge and fun she shared. I can only imagine what a fun mom and grandma she must have been. Please accept my sympathy for your great loss. I am so lucky to have known her.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Wow, words cannot express my heartfelt sympathy at the loss of this wonderful, funny lady! She was truly one of a kind. I worked with her at Braeview where recently she was the weekend supervisor. I remeber 2 or 3 days into my orientation, she kicked me out on the floor by myself with these words, "You have a license and know what to do!" I will treasure the laughter and knowledge she imparted. She will truly be missed not only by staff, but residents and their families as well. She had an uncanny patience with their constant demands on her time. Braeview will never, ever be the same. Rest in peace, great lady!
